Thanks for your interest! Your registration options:
Come on Your Own or Build a Team: No team? No worries! We welcome both individuals – who will be paired with others who share their enthusiasm – and teams, to a maximum of 10 people per team. Your team can be all adults or a mixture of adults and children, ages seven and up (at least one adult is required at each table for the operation of the heat sealer). To guarantee all team members register for the same packaging time and packaging station, we recommend that one person register the entire team. If this is not possible, just make sure that each team member registering separately chooses the same packaging time and provides the optional “Team Name” on his/her registration form. If you have a large group (25 or more “Packaging Partners”) please contact us for more information by phoning Mary Beth Soffer at 314-786-2785.
When you register to package you may elect the standard package ($10 students/educator; $20 adult) or be an even bigger supporter and register to package as a “Gold” ($50+) or “Platinum” ($100+) “Packaging Partner.”
Age Requirements: Children as young as seven can participate when accompanied by a parent or other adult. The recommended ratio of adults to children will vary according to age and ability (these are general guidelines):
- for children 7-9: the adult to child ratio should be 1 adult for every 2 children
- for children 10-12: the adult to child ratio should be 1 adult for every 3 children
- for children 13 and up: the adult to child ratio should be 1 adult for every 5 children
Physical Requirements: The one hour packaging session will be conducted while standing (for safety reasons, there can be no sitting on the floor and there is no room for chairs or stools). Accessing the packaging site will require walking over varying surfaces. If you would like to participate in the day but cannot stand/walk without support, those 15 and older can consider registering to be a Leadership Volunteer.
Food Allergies: Our meal packages contain soy protein, rice, wheat pasta, beans, and dried vegetables. Those with allergies to these ingredients will want to refrain from participating.
More on Food: No refreshments are available onsite and, to ensure the hygienic preparation of the food packages, no food or beverages may be brought into the packaging center. In addition, no coats, packages, purses, or personal items are allowed in the packaging center so make other arrangements for these items.
If you have registration questions, please phone Mary Beth Soffer at 314-786-2785.
